Centers of Excellence
The HopeXchange Medical Centers are modern, innovative facilities designed to act as catalysts in addressing the rampant disease and ailments found in sub-Saharan Africa and Central America.
Guatemala
In 2019, San Juan Bautista Regional Hospital was entrusted to HopeXchange and now forms part of the HopeXchange Medical Centers network.
Located in the Jalpatagua region of southeastern Guatemala, near the border of El Salvador, the hospital serves a medically underserved population in Central America. The facility provides a broad range of healthcare services, including an Emergency Department, Medical and Surgical Unit, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, and Pediatric Unit.
In addition to delivering essential medical care, the medical center focuses on addressing significant health challenges affecting the region, particularly those impacting women and children. The hospital also combats malnutrition through community outreach programs that provide food assistance to vulnerable individuals and families in surrounding villages and communities.

HopeXchange partners with Yale University to strengthen clinical quality, professional training, and community-based healthcare delivery through evidence-based, scalable approaches.
HopeXchange utilizes a Hub-and-Spoke Healthcare Model to extend healthcare services into underserved rural communities. The Hospital San Juan Bautista (HSJB) in Jalpatagua serves as the central hub, providing:
* emergency care
* inpatient services
* surgical care
* diagnostics
* maternal health services &
* specialized medical treatment
The spokes consist of HopeXchange's growing network of Community Health Workers, who live and serve within the rural villages surrounding Jalpatagua. These trained community leaders provide:
* health education
* identify individuals in need of medical attention
* support maternal and child health initiatives
* monitor vulnerable patients &
* facilitate referrals to the hospital when higher levels of care are required

This model allows HopeXchange to bring healthcare closer to where people live while maintaining access to comprehensive medical services through the hospital. As the program grows, HopeXchange plans to expand this network strategically into additional underserved regions, further extending access to quality healthcare for vulnerable populations.
